This one-of-a-kind original watercolor painting, “Under the Banyan Tree,” was created en plein air while on vacation in Curaçao in March 2026.
Painted outdoors on location, this piece captures the strength, complexity, and quiet beauty of an old banyan tree draped in twisting vines. Working directly from life allowed me to more accurately capture the intricate textures, shifting shadows, and changing colors beneath the tree canopy.
The artwork was created using professional A. Gallo watercolors on Arches 100% cotton watercolor paper.
